Why Do Insurance Company Commercials Talk About Everything Except the Insurance Itself?

You mean you don't like a talking lizard?

First, the specific coverage discussions necessary for properly insuring anything can not be addressed in a thirty (30) second advertisement.

Try to explain in a half minute why it is crucial for a homeowner with a pool to make sure their policy does not exclude coverage for those injured using the diving board or slide.

Attempt a 30-second explanation that the auto policy they sell excludes coverage for anyone driving for a transportation network company.

In that same time frame, try to outline the differences between a policy which provides minimum versus responsible limits of liability and why that is of paramount importance.

But what might really be the main reason some carriers don't include meaningful insurance messaging in their advertisements?
Some companies rely on consumers who simply want the lowest price or quickest transaction. Those same companies bank on people not paying attention to those types of shortcomings inherent in the product they are selling.
